A very rainy Independence Day

July 4th, 2006

That's a way to celebrate America's 230th birthday. Couped up in the house with a coupla rented movies and some refrigerated watermelon. Well, it isn't all too bad. No mosquitos, for one.

My plan for Independence Day:

2:15: Finish this journal, then get out of bed.

2:16: Roll back into bed.

2:17: Get kicked out of bed by Mom.

2:37: Finish up breakfast, just in time for lunch.

3:00: Enjoy an all-American lunch of taquitos, Polish sausage, and leftover Chinese.

4:15: Listen to NPR. Laugh at people with funny accents.

4:25: Log into an Invision forum, and engage in an insightful, thought-provoking discussion about immigration reform.

4:25:01: Declare a flame war on the ignorant cave-dwelling SOB who was having an insightful, thought-provoking discussion about immigration reform with me.

4:31: Go figure, the rain stopped. maybe there will be fireworks after all.

4:33: Whoops! Spoke to soon!

4:35: Toss clothes into the tumble dryer.

5:13: Turn on the tumble dryer. That can explain the wet feeling when I put my shirt on.

5:15: Throw wet shirt in tumble dryer, then turn it on. Trial and error...

5:20: Check my messages on Fur Affinity. New images, I see...omigawd, no one's that flexible!

5:30: Help mom with the cooking. I can peel a mean potato.

6:00: Pull the plastic dollar store American flags out of the attic and stick them in the flower pots outside, because everyone knows Independence day is about having flags around.

6:30: Dinner. Does not include potatoes for some reason.

7:00: Sit down to one of the rented DVDs. Which one's more American, Brokeback Mountain or Finding Neverland?

9:00: Finally, some time to plug in the Wacom and crack open Photoshop. The next deviation will involve toilets.

12:00: Enough chatting, drawing, whatever I do within those three hours; time for bed. Pop some melatonin and Lexapro and settle down with an episode of M*A*S*H or two.
